Guoming Sun, Ph.D.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Sun received his doctoral degree from Cornell University followed by postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University. He subsequently joined the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration at Columbia University. His research interests are primarily directed toward developing translational polymer based biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. As the founder of Sunogel Biotechnologies the focus of his entrepreneurial endeavor is to develop pro-regenerative hydrogel scaffolds for scarless wound healing and skin regeneration. He is thrilled to be able to translate his research into clinical therapies.
Tom Shen, Ph.D.
Chief Development Officer
Dr. Shen received his Ph.D. (’15) in Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering and B.S (’08) in Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering from Johns Hopkins University. His research is focused on designing 3D biomimetic scaffolds that enable pluripotent stem cells to grow, differentiate and form functional blood vessels which are then used to improve healing in various vascular related diseases and wound indications.
John W Harmon, MD FACS
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Harmon is a Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and the Director of the Hendrix Burn/Wound Laboratory at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. His research focuses on developing translational strategies to involve endogenous stem cells in wound repair and regeneration. Dr. Harmon serves on the Johns Hopkins Bayview Scientific Advisory Board.
Xiaogang Li, M.B.A
Mr. Li received his Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Northwestern University and M.B.A from Duke University specializing in Health Sector Management. With over 10 years of experience in strategic marketing, product management and R&D from Fortune 500 companies such as Pfizer, Becton Dickenson, and wound care market leader ConvaTec, Mr. Li has successfully led numerous new product launches and managed products with annual revenue over $100M.
